Maggie Zepp is a dancer and choreographer living in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She creates dances to make meaning of her experiences and celebrate the absurd ways we heighten stakes to unreachable heights in performance. Her dances are informed by longing, whether it’s her own desire for recognition or a longing to connect with the audience in an honest way. She has been making dances for attention since she was a child.
Since 2013, she has been embedded in the Minneapolis dance community as a choreographer, performer, and collaborator. Her choreography has been commissioned by the Walker Art Center (Choreographer’s Evening), Fresh Oysters Performance Research (Minneapolis), and Point Dance Ensemble (Stevens Point, WI). From 2013–2019, she co-choreographed and co-produced work with the four-person dance collective DaNCEBUMS for venues including Red Eye Theater, The Southern Theater, and Tek Box Theater. As a performer, she has worked with both local and international choreographers, including Morgan Thorson, Chris Schlichting, Mathew Janczewski, Tristan Koepke (ME), and Cally Spooner (UK).
